Inspection of bike locks and dealer checks
At Varefakta, we help you ensure your bike locks continue to meet the requirements – even after they’ve reached the market. That’s why we carry out spot checks on approved, Varefakta-labelled locks.
We purchase the locks in stores and online shops – just like consumers do. During inspection, we check whether the packaging and lock certificate still meet the requirements, and whether anything has changed since approval. We also physically test the locks, and if something doesn’t match, we take action.
We select around 20% of all approved bike locks for spot checks each year. This means that, on average, all Varefakta-labelled locks are inspected every five years.
When we purchase spot check samples, we also conduct a dealer check. This gives us valuable insight into how your products are presented and sold.
