Here you will find the list of bicycle locks that Varefakta has tested and approved. The list is divided by brand and the type of bicycle lock, and each approved lock is written with its traceability number (VK number), which can be found on the enclosed locking certificate and possibly on the packaging.
Most insurance companies require that your bike has an approved lock. All models on the list have been tested and approved in accordance with Varefakta’s bicycle lock regulations. There will be models on the list that cannot be purchased. It can e.g. due to the fact that the model is so new that it has not reached the dealers, or that the model is not currently imported/produced.

Approval of bicycle locks
- Before a type of lock can be approved, it must undergo various technical tests.
- Then a technician goes to attack the lock, according to a carefully planned test plan, with various hand tools. Depending on the type of lock, it can be, for example, with a screwdriver, a hammer or a junior saw.
- The technician twists, beats, cuts or saws so that the lock is subjected to the same breaking attempts that one imagines a bicycle thief could invent.
- As an extra security, the experiments are led and monitored by an expert committee, which before the tests has studied the lock in detail and made a test plan, where i.a. weak points may be assessed.
